Sunday Mass Update October 22, 2020
Year of St. Joseph Mission Year of St. Joseph Mission Year of St. Joseph Mission Update October 21, 2020 We’re happy to announce the Fathers of Mercy are preaching a special Mission in honor of the Year of St. Joseph at three locations in the Diocese of Charlotte this November! Welcome Changes Now that the state of North Carolina is moving into Phase 3 of the governor's reopening plan, we will have some very welcome changes at our parish. First of all, our church capacity will now be 250 people, rather than 140! This means we will no longer be using the gym for overflow, although we will continue live-streaming the 10:30 and 12:30 Sunday Masses for those at home. For those who wish to sit outside, we will still make chairs available. We are also able to provide Holy Water once again! And starting tomorrow, Saturday, October 3rd, we will have confessions back in the church confessional. Please know that we are taking precautions to sanitize our church to mitigate the possible spread of COVID-19 for your safety. Welcome Changes Update October 2, 2020 Adoration Update Adoration will begin next week in the chapel, Tuesday, October 6th 8:00 a.m. Please be aware that even in Phase 3, we must limit the number of people in the chapel to 4.

Together in Holiness Together in Holiness will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Charlotte. The conference will feature keynote presentations from national speaker Kathryn Whitaker and local speaker Rev. Matthew Kauth, as well as Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. It is a marvelous day for married and engaged couples—a chance to take time for themselves and receive a foundation in the theology of marriage as well as practical advice for living out a happy and holy family life.

As part of our mission to uphold the sanctity of life and family, the St. John Paul II Foundation is committed to the health and safety of all conference participants. For those participating in person, we are developing precautions to ensure adequate social distancing, minimize contact with high-touch surfaces, and maintain a safe and clean environment.  https://forlifeandfamily.org/events/th20-cnc/

Plenary Indulgences (Covid-19) Update: April 9, 2020 Plenary Indulgences
Year of St. Joseph Bishop Jugis has announced the Diocese of Charlotte will celebrate 2020 as the “Year of
St. Joseph,” commemorating the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph being solemnly declared Patron of the Catholic Church by Pope Pius IX. We want to honor St. Joseph, the guardian and protector of the Church, and learn from his example of faith, perseverance, and holy fatherhood. The Year of St. Joseph began on January 1st and will conclude December 31st, 2020. To encourage the faithful in this regard, at our request the Holy See has granted a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions to pilgrims who visit the parishes and chapels named for St. Joseph in the Diocese of Charlotte, as well as the Cathedral of St. Patrick, throughout the year. Information can be found at www.YearofStJoseph.org/pilgrimage. St. Benedict Press/TAN Books is offering an official Year of St. Joseph Prayer Book with pages that can be stamped at each location as a record of pilgrimages. This book will be available later this month. We have ordered the book for you our parishioners.
